We appreciate every suggestion and criticism that you brought into our store, which gave us an opportunity to improve and drive us to work towards perfection. We appreciate every time you understood what it is like as a small business owners and how shaky our hands and hearts have been.

As education driven mothers, it is like living a dream to see our passion take such beautiful form and become a resource center for other parents, and to be able to guide them with knowledge & resources that we have at our disposal.

This year has been big for us and we would like to celebrate it in a Grand style as well! We are happy to announce various workshops that you will be able to attend in our store during the month of December 2013. Sign-up sheets will be available in our store starting Monday Nov 25th. Hurry-up, as seats are limited!

– 5th Dec 2013, Thu 10 to 11 AM: Story-time by Ladders Teaching Store for little ones up to 3 years old. Free (Limit 8 kids max.)

– 7th Dec 2013, Sat 10 to 11 AM: “Importance of Independence In early Childhood” By Marie Molin & Manisha Huria (WCPSS Elementary School Teachers). This event is for parents ONLY (no childcare will be provided at the store).  $10 per adult (Limit 10 adults max).

– 12th Dec 2013, Thu 10 to 11 AM: Christmas Craft – Origami Ornaments by Ladders Teaching Store for 8-12 years old. Free (Limit 8 kids max.)

– 14th Dec 2013, Sat 10 to 11 AM: “First step towards college – Never too early” By Kathy Hamilton Gore, Senior Lecturer, Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, College of Natural Resources, NC State University, Raleigh, NC. $15 per Adult (Limit 12 Adults)

– 19th Dec 2013, Thu 10 to 11 AM: Learn to make and take home an amazing Lego Alligator – By Snapology of Raleigh. 5-7 years old. $10 per kid (Limit 10 kids max.)

– 21st Dec 2013, Sat 10 to 11 AM: Learn to make beautiful wreath to bring in the festivities by Ladders Teaching Store for 8-12 years old. $15 per kid (Limit 6 Kids max.)

Grand Opening

Dear Parents and Teachers, Grand OpeningLadders Teaching Store is very excited to announce our 2-week Grand Opening Event. The event will kick start with the Earth Day on 22nd April 2013  and continue till Cinco De Mayo on 5th May 2013.  As the week goes by everyone will get a chance to enter in our DAILY and GRAND Raffles. Everything will be on sale with discounts, up to 50% off!

We know how stressful it can get right before the EOGs, so we have made sure to bring in more Test Prep and Strategy workbooks. All our books are based on Common Core Standards and helps students in practicing the new testing standards.

Daily & Grand Raffles

RaffleOn a more fun note, our Daily Raffles will be a combination of our Gift Certificates and some fun games. The Grand Raffle will have gift certificates and goodies not only from Ladders Teaching Store, but also from local Restaurants & Stores. There will be a special weekend Raffle on 28th April and the Grand Raffle will be declared on 5th May.

 

 

 

Earth Day Competition

Earth Day CompetitionOur Earth Day Competition is receiving a lot of enthusiasm from Parents, Teachers and Students. We would like to thank all our participants who have shown so much eagerness to put their creativity to best use and show how we can cherish all the natural resources around us and be sensitive towards preserving our Earth.

Earth Day Competition 2013

Earth Day 2013On the occasion of Earth Day, Ladders is inviting elementary and middle schools kids to participate in a Artwork & Essay competition. There will be two categories, one for kids from 4th grade to 8th grade, who are eligible for the Essay Writing Competition and second for the younger kids (rising kindergartners to 3rd grade), who can participate in Artwork Competition. All entries will need to be made in person at Ladders Teaching Store by April 22, 2013 and winners would be announced on April 29, 2013.

 

Earth Day Network

Earth Day is honored every year around the world on 22nd April. Earth Day Network manages and organizes Earth Day and related environmental education and policy activities. It is a driving force, steering environmental awareness around the world. From Richmond to Russia, teachers are using Earth Day Network’s environmental education curricula in their classrooms.

 

Everybody is a Winner

Each participant will get a special gift from Ladders for their efforts and in order to promote kids to think and live Green. Special prizes will be awarded to the winners in both categories.

 

In a nutshell

Who: All kids from Rising Kindergarten to 8th grade
What: Essay (4th to 8th grade) or Artwork (rising kindergartner to 3rd grade)
When: On or before April 22, 2013
Where: Ladders Teaching Store, Morrisville NC

 

Contest Regulations

All entries must comply with the following contest rules before submission:

    • Essay or the Artwork should be related to the Earth Day’s cause and drive
    • Only one (1) entry may be submitted by each contestant.
    • Each contestant must complete and attach a student entry form.
    • Each entry must include a title and author’s name
    • Artwork should be done on a paper size between Letter (8.5 x 11) and Ledger (11 x 17)
    • Each essay must reflect the contestant’s own research, writing and original thinking.
    • Essays can be handwritten or typed.
    • The essay should be between 300 to 500 words.
    • References should be included and clearly identified.
    • Submit the entries to:

  • Entries must be submitted on or before contest due date on April 22, 2013.
  • Essays or Artworks will not be returned to the author/artist; they become property of Ladders Teaching Store. We reserve the right to print them in our publications. Appropriate citations will be given to the writers/artists.
  • Employees of Ladders Teaching Store and their relatives are not eligible to participate in the competition.
